Part one of the Death Note live action Trilogy.

An ordinary student, Light Yagami, finds a mysterious notebook, known as the "Death Note". He soon finds that he can bring about the death of anyone, simply by writing their names in the Death Note while picturing their faces. To the world, he becomes known as Kira, the unstoppable "God of The New World."
Only the genius detective, L, seems to get close to discovering Kira's true identity, The race begins between L and Light to discover each other's identity, and a game of cat and mouse ensues between the two geniuses.
